وَإِذَا أَرَدْنَا أَن نُّهْلِكَ قَرْيَةً أَمَرْنَا مُتْرَفِيهَا فَفَسَقُوا فِيهَا فَحَقَّ عَلَيْهَا الْقَوْلُ فَدَمَّرْنَاهَا

“And when We intend to destroy a city, We command its affluent, but they defiantly disobey, so the word comes into effect upon it, and We destroy it”
